Learning Outcome #4

Learning Outcome #4

I felt like our most recent paper showed my best ability to peer edit. The person in my group I felt like I did a good job with was Thea. Thea’s paper had a good base but still lacked a bunch of details. For starters there was the wrong sized font, I don’t think she realized and this was an easy fix. Another baseline writing mechanic for her paper that was missingĀ  was a thesis statement. Without the thesis it is extremely difficult to prove your point and make a claim to help strengthen your paper. She also forgot to cite her sources throughout the text. For example she was pulling evidence from the student archive but forgot to say what student she was getting the evidence from. Our student papers even though done by our peers and I are a website so it makes it a legitimate source. It is extremely important to still give the correct credentials to these papers. There was some other little mistakes that I saw throughout this paper. There were multiple words miss-spelled by a word or two which could’ve led to her missing out on some points. There were also a few instances where she used the wrong tense for some words. An example was when she was trying to talk in the presence tense but instead used the past tense of the word sculpt. I also felt that she was making great points but not expanding among them to help expand on her argument. There were many instances where what she said was great, but with the lack of evidence there was no way to solidify it by not clarifying on what she was trying to express.
